Frequently Asked Questions
Why have you chosen the word Lieder as your brand name?
Because we would like to get you involved in the music. The word Lieder comes from the German language and it means Songs. And the German word Lieder is pronounced as leader so as to indicate that our cables are leading you to the music. Also instead of cables some people use the word leads.
So one might say that Lieder leads you to the music.
Why do you sell only cables?
We concentrate on cables so as not to dilute our attention and knowledge with products that do not belong in our portfolio. Our products feature the best materials and prooven technologies are being applied to obtain the best possible results.
For your musical enjoyment.
Why do you use silver?
Because silver is nature's best conductor. Scientists know for a fact that silver will conduct an electrical signal with less resistance and signal degradation than copper and it has the highest current carrying capacity of any metal. In addition, silver-oxide or the layer that is being formed when silver interacts with oxygen turns out to be a conductor that is virtually as good as silver itself. This means that over time, the cable quality will not deteriorate. As it definitely will with copper, whose oxide layers actually behave as a semiconductor, causing distortion due to a non-linearity in signal-carrying characteristics.
For the best conductivity.
Why Star-Quad construction?
Because it cancels out various interferences.
So you get state of the art performance.
Have the Lieder cables been treated in any way?
Yes, they have. Actually, there are 3 processes. One of them being Deep Cryogenic Treatment. The other 2 are proprietary to us, so we prefer not to give you any details.
So you get the very best musical involvement.
How long does it take to have my cables run in?
After a running-in period (dielectric forming, etc.) of 24 hours all Lieder cable models will sound fine, giving more and more detailed information. And after approx. 100 hours they will be the finest cables available. But only after several hundreds of hours will they have reached the Lieder quality level.
